How Our Texas Mediation Services Work
The Mediation Process
Step 1
Complimentary Initial Consultation
The process begins with a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This brief conversation allows us to explain how mediation works, answer general questions, and determine whether our services may be appropriate for your situation.

Please do not provide confidential information, the names of other parties, or detailed facts about the dispute before we complete a conflict review.
Step 2
Conflict and Suitability Review
Before accepting a matter, we conduct a conflict check and consider whether mediation is appropriate for the circumstances. This may include discussing participation, safety, accessibility, timing, and whether everyone has the information necessary to participate meaningfully.

Mediation works best when each party is able to make informed decisions and participate in the process in good faith.
Step 3
Individual Pre-Mediation Intake
Once the matter is accepted, each party participates in a separate, private intake conversation. This gives the mediator an opportunity to understand the general issues, learn what each party hopes to address, identify any concerns about the process, and prepare an effective structure for the mediation.

The intake meeting is not used to determine who is right or wrong. Its purpose is to help the mediator prepare a fair and productive process.
Step 4
Agreement, Scheduling, and Payment
Before the mediation is scheduled, the parties receive information describing the mediation process, fees, payment requirements, confidentiality, and expectations for participation.

All required agreements and payments must be completed before the mediation begins. Each party is responsible for completing their own documents and payment unless another arrangement is approved in writing.
Step 5
The Mediation Session
During mediation, the mediator helps the parties identify the issues that need to be resolved, communicate their perspectives, and explore possible options.

The parties may meet together, separately with the mediator, or through a combination of both approaches. The format is adapted to the needs of the participants while preserving the mediator’s neutrality.
Step 6
Resolution and Next Steps
If the parties reach an agreement, the agreed terms may be documented for review and any appropriate next steps. Parties may choose or be encouraged to consult independent legal counsel before signing documents or making legally significant decisions.
Â
If a complete agreement is not reached, the mediation may still help narrow the disputed issues, improve communication, or identify areas requiring additional information or professional guidance.
Mediation Rate
Full-Day Mediation
$1,250 per party
Â
For a standard two-party matter, each party is invoiced separately for $1,250.
Â
The specific scope, format, scheduling arrangements, and any potential additional expenses will be explained and agreed upon before the mediation is confirmed. Virtual mediation is available throughout Texas, with in-person services considered by special arrangement.
